I think there is definitely a market for components. I am launching a line of artisan beads and components soon too. Go for it! What can it hurt to try???????

That's exactly what I'm trying to figure out, I've been making/listing lots of components the last month or so and they are selling fairly well. So I'm going to do a combination of both. My dilemma is whether I should separate them out into different shops.

I think it's a great idea to list your components. At this moment I only sell my finished jewelry but I am hearing many say that their components are selling better than their finished jewelry. Why not list some pieces and see how it goes?

I like the leather jewelry. And I support your idea to sell components on Etsy. That can be quite profitable too.

So pretty!! I agree that components, piece parts and findings are great sellers. I think starting a new shop would be great but honestly i don't know how hard running one shop is.
On the other hand you might want to keep one shop for all of your positive feedback
good luck,i will be sure to visit:)

I think that you'd do well to market some of your pieces as findings. Have you considered sponsoring a few facebook contests or blog giveaways? You could offer just a few, low-cost items and people will come to see. Especially on blogs that focus on crafting & jewelry-making.

I'd personally prefer finished pieces as although I think designing or creating my own jewelry would be fun, I am not that inclined at this point in my life...

While I'm sure there is a market for components, I would much prefer the completed pieces--which are fantastic.

I definitely think you should try for the components!

I love your jewelry!

Completed jewelry pieces are more than enough for most people, although many are crafty enough to want to try to 'build their own', so maybe components would be a nice idea. :)

I usually buy my jewelry by local craftsman at our local art gallery. I can't afford most of the art, but the earrings are definitely within my budget.
