New Leather and Etched Bracelet Cuffs
New leather cuff I've been working on...custom etching via laser printer opens up my etching capabilities. Right now I work with brass, copper and bronze....if silver prices ever come down, maybe silver too. The leather on these are so soft and fit your wrist like a glove! These are great with a jeans and t-shirt kind of feel...Do you have a special message? Maybe your kids names, pet, thoughts, zentangles, doodles, special animal? I can create an etched piece with just about anything you can think up! Hope you like them...they are now posted on my
Etsy retail sight if interested in purchasing!

New Prototype Leather and Raku Bracelet
Here is a new concept I've been thinking of....Raku clay ends for leather...The color on these really turned out terrific...Georgies Copper Flash...and the pieces were a perfect fit for the soft yellow leather. However when wrapping the copper to connect to the bracelet, one of the ends broke on the finding. Next time I'll try softer wire or cord to connect. I'll also try some ^6 pieces for a little more strength. Overall, I'm thrilled & think I have a new concept piece that will draw some interest in the jewelry making world...these ends could be used as focals with beaded wire as well. Next week I'll continue working out the bugs and work on some quantities for up coming shows and my website. I'm curious what you all think...please share your thoughts!

Crochety...no just crocheting!
If you've been following my blog, you know that I've been knitting and crocheting throughout fall and winter..I also love to make jewelry...so as I meander through Etsy, I come across the most amazing thing...crocheted jewelry that is really cool! Not your great grandmother cool....stylish and fashionably cool!
First I'll show you my version...then I'll share the the folks that inspired me~
I have tons of ribbon and yarn as I am a fabric & textile junkie! I also have a bead store amount of beads...The perfect setup for a creative storm!
I've made a few crocheted keys and they got scooped right up! I haven't posted yet on Etsy, but I will have some by next week! So I'm curious what you all think...next step is to work in my clay and metal somehow....any ideas??? Anyone???
Ok now to the professionals.....Here are a few sites to enjoy in the crocheted jewelry world! Enjoy!

Joanne Mihalik's wonderful cakes and confections was the place to be! She wowed everyone with her wonderful cake balls and truffles.... I don't believe I've ever had better! Jules Artwear had ton's of her cool jewelry...you know her...always peddling her wares at the mall in front of Burlinton Coat Factory...you know...the place that's surrounded with a ton of people!
Beth Moser Designs was sporting her sweet new display and her one of a kind beaded pieces were just sparkling! Her talented husband, Chris Moser filled our ears with wonderful acoustic guitar sounds and terrific vocals!

Suzette Mason from Simply Sterling Designs wowed us all with her "simply" wonderful handcrafted silver jewelry...
Well if you missed it, it really was an amazing night...and not another event for a while...but we're working on more 1st Fridays...we just need a cool (actually warm) place to park our goods through the rest of the winter...so if you know of a business downtown that would like to feature us...please leave me a comment or send an email!
